Reel McCoy Film Group – Screening of “Wild Tales”

Reel McCoy Film Group – Screening of “Wild Tales”

On Sunday 27 April at 12:30PM, the Reel McCoy Film Group is showing the most-seen Argentine film of all time, "Wild Tales", produced by the Almodóvar brothers in 2014. Six blackly comic tales on the pressures of modern life, connected by the threads of revenge and catharsis with the added spice of coincidence and absurd misunderstandings. As one promotional slogan for this film confessed, we can all lose control. The film's wicked humour endeared it to the critics, and it received many awards and nominations.

Volant – Jazz Quartet @ Smith’s Alternative

Volant – Jazz Quartet @ Smith’s Alternative

Matthew Ottignon invites listeners on a journey that celebrates the beauty of birds, both in their physical flight and as symbols of freedom.

…his invention, execution and originality is exceptional” – ★★★★ Jazzwise Magazine, UK

The music moves effortlessly from moments of anthemic heroism, with Ottignon’s fiery tenor at the fore, to lyrical melodies and intimate soundscapes, where the subtle yet confident artistry of Hayley, Hannah, and Lauren nurture the music to a place of sheer beauty.
